The focus of oral rehabilitation should always be the outcome, not any specific method or materials.

However, severely atrophied jaws, sinus morphology and/or poor quality bone present significant limitations and challenges to treatment planning for dental implants, especially in a patient-centered approach involving fixed and immediate function.

Zygoma implants offer an ability to overcome certain limitations, but involve advanced invasive surgery which, when necessarily focusing on technique alone, may lead to poor prosthetic outcomes in terms of cleanability, comfort and restorability. Additionally, the challenges which are evident on the radiographs may differ from what the surgeon encounters at surgery, and may require a modification to the surgical approach or an abandonment of the plan.

This program will explore the efficacy of Fibishenko’s approach to Zygomatic implants and combination of other advanced yet predictable surgical and restorative techniques as a means to control the outcome. It will feature treating the edentulous, as well as those with failing dentitions and complex anatomical or clinical presentations using a digital workflow.

Dr Fibishenko will describe and compare four surgical methods to idealize the placement of Zygoma implants for an optimal patient-centered prosthetic outcome, and will present results of his clinical study:

• comparing the differences between planned and executed (or abandoned) treatments involving Zygoma.
• life table analysis of performance (interruptions to fixed function).
• patient-reported outcomes relative to various initial clinical presentations (edentulous, partly edentulous and fully edentulous).
• recorded clinical outcomes

This presentation will focus on foundational principles of the ZAGA Concept including hard and soft tissue grafting strategies for treatment of the severely atrophic maxilla with full arch immediate implant reconstruction. It will also feature the presenter's 34-year history of using the tripodal subperiosteal implant as a treatment strategy for the severely atrophic mandible. Innovations and complications will be presented.

After this presentation attendees will:

1. Understand the importance of a prophylactic approach to full arch immediate implant reconstruction of the severely atrophic maxilla and mandible
2. Understand the ZAGA Concept including hard and soft tissue grafting strategies for treatment of the severely atrophic maxilla
3. Understand the use of the mandibular tripodal subperiosteal implant as a treatment strategy for the severely atrophic mandible.

Treatment of the atrophied maxilla can be accomplished with multiple different techniques including standard, tilted, nasopalatine, transsinus, transnasal, nasal rim, piriform rim, pterygoid, and zygomatic implants. Which should you use and why? The PATZI protocol is a systematic algorithm that allows for rapid and predictable treatment of atrophic maxillae using a near infinite combination of the aforementioned implants. PATZI is unique in the fact that it allows for real-time intrasurgical adjustments and does not lock the surgeon into a single treatment plan. In this lecture, Dr. Holtzclaw will explain PATZI and demonstrate numerous cases of the protocol in action.

Dr. Dan Holtzclaw is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Periodontology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Holtzclaw has published over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals in addition to multiple textbooks specific to remote anchorage implant dentistry.

Dr. Holtzclaw served as the Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Implant and Advanced Clinical Dentistry for 13 years in addition to serving as an editorial board member and/or editorial reviewer for six additional dental journals.

With over 200 main podium lectures provided at major dental conferences all over the world, Dr. Holtzclaw has been named a “Leader in Continuing Dental Education” by Dentistry Today Magazine for the past 19 consecutive years.

A recipient of the prestigious “Excellence in Research Award” from the International College of Dentists, Dr. Holtzclaw has pioneered multiple innovative surgical procedures such as the Pterygoid Fixated Arch Stabilization Technique (PFAST), the Piezoelectric Hinge Assisted Ridge Split (PHARS) protocol, the PATZI remote anchorage implant protocol, the PLACATE transnasal implant treatment planning protocol, and the Texas 2-Step suture technique.

Currently, Dr. Holtzclaw serves as the Director of Fixed Arch Solutions for the Affordable Care Network of dental clinics and Chief Clinical Officer of Advanced Dental Implant Centers, dental service organizations (DSO’s) with over 450 clinics in 42 states of the USA.

Dr. Sinada is a prosthodontist & self-described tech-geek that dedicates teaching and leadership activities to advancing the field of prosthodontics via surgical and prosthetic innovation. With a very committed emphasis on pushing the envelope, particular interests include the application of digital dentistry to all aspects of prosthodontics— from surgical applications to comprehensive prosthodontic treatment and maxillofacial prosthetics.

This presentation will address the disruptive innovations and the current intraoral and extraoral scanning protocols for complete digital workflow in full-arch implant rehabilitation for both terminal dentition and edentulous patients. A step-by-step digital approach from diagnostic data collection and treatment planning to surgical and prosthetic management will be illustrated through clinical cases and supported by scientific evidence from multicenter clinical trials.

Dr. Panos Papaspyridakos serves as an Associate Professor of Postgraduate Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and as Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health. Additionally, he maintains his private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry in Boston.

Dr. Papaspyridakos has authored more than 100 articles and book chapters in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks and he lectures extensively in national and international dental meetings, while he serves as a reviewer for several dental journals. His innovative clinical implant research is widely cited and has received international acclaim with educational awards, including the 2022 American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) 1st Prize Award for Best Clinical Article of the year.

He is a fellow of the International Team of Implantology (ITI) and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics (GNYAP).

Dr. Golpa graduated from the U.S.C. School of dentistry in 1996 and prior with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. Dr. Golpa was among the first dentists in the U.S. to embrace the All-on-4® treatment concept in 2006.

Has it really improved our way of practice, is it time to jump in and invest into technology? What are the main benefits and how do we find the balance; the difference of traditional and digital way of practice will be illustrated. How do we practice in private practices keep up with time will be discussed.

Dr Jeanette Chua obtained her Bachelor of Dental Science degree from The University of Melbourne and began practicing dentistry in Singapore immediately after. She subsequently returned to Australia to further her practice while completing a Master in Applied Commerce. She later did a preceptorship program in Implant Dentistry at the Implant Department of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD) in California, USA. This was followed up with specialty training in Advanced Periodontology and Implant Surgery, and a Master in Advanced Periodontology. She is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She established Encia Dental Specialist, a private practice limited to Periodontology and Implant Surgery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2008. She later founded Artius Dental Group in 2015, in partnership with a team of like-minded practitioners, with the aim of providing quality dental treatment through responsible dentistry and ethical patient care. This was followed with the formation of Ancora Imparo, a dental continuing education platform that strives to deliver high caliber dental continuing education for dentists in Asia. She lectures mainly in periodontal therapy and implant therapy both locally and internationally. Dr. Polido is also the Program Director of the Predoctoral Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program. Dr. Polido completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he served as Chief Resident. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Polido is also a Diplomate of the American College of Dentists and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Oral Implantology and Implant Dentistry. Despite constant advances in treatment and access to care, complete edentulism remains an all-too-common disability.

What's more, even though epidemiological studies show a percentage decrease in the number of edentulous patients, they confirm an increase in the number of edentulous patients and a growing number of candidates for procedures to convert to total edentulism.

Unfortunately, conventional removable full dentures are not enough to solve a problem that many patients still experience as a severe handicap.

At the same time, technological advances in implant treatment are increasingly reported in the media, generating ever-growing demand from our patients seeking to improve their quality of life and benefit from what Branemark called the third dentition.

Because of all its specificities, fixed prosthetic implant treatment of the fully edentulous can be a source of stress and anxiety for the unaccustomed practitioner.

The aim of this training course is to answer all the questions raised by this therapeutic proposal by proposing a standardized, reliable, and reproducible approach designed to remove any obstacles preventing the treatment team from implementing it.
